Managing your Riparian Zone for Nature

Planting Whitethorn
This educational video outlines how to plant a whitethorn hedge and why it is beneficial to your farm. It includes how to assess your site, the importance of soil fertility, planting and pruning, how do you manage weeds etc The video shows Clare-based Farming for Nature Ambassador Jim Cronin teaching a whitethorn hedging course on his farm and his top tips on the above.
Soil Animation
Why Soil Matters – and how to improve it is a short animation on why good healthy soil is important to all of us and how as a livestock or arable farmer you can improve it on your land for the benefit of your land, your community and the planet. This short video (just over 3mins long) may be useful to show at a training session.
