Trainee at a farming for nature farm in Austria

Your chance for exchange and inspiration! In June I had the possibility to come to Ireland with a couple of other Austrian farming for nature ambassadors. We had some great days and got the chance to see a couple of farms and got to know some amazing people. That’s why we thought about taking a trainee from the “farming for nature” family for a couple of weeks in spring / summer. We are Manuel and Solveig Thurnes, living in Serfaus with our 4 children (ages 2 to 11). Serfaus is an Austrian village situated in the magnificent Tyrolean Alps at an altitude of more than 1400 metres. A large number of tourists come to Serfaus for skiing in winter and for hiking and other mountain sports in summer. For a living, we run a guesthouse as well as a farm where we specialize in breeding sheep, goats, white donkeys, chickens and quails. Almost all of our animals are old breeds in danger of extinction. Additionally, we have an orchard and a large herb garden whose products we sell in our farm shop alongside meat, sheepskin, jams, etc. Especially in summer, we are kept on our feet with moving the animals to various Alpine meadows, harvesting, gardening and showing tourists round the farm. For all these varied tasks we are looking for someone to support us during the busy summer months. But more than that, we love the exchange, talking about visions, risks and tricks. If you are interested in working with us on our farm and enjoying the many attractive activities on offer in the area in your free time, please contact us for further information. We are looking forward to hearing from you. And by the way – as Manuel and I as well as our oldest children speak English, it doesn’t matter if you're not speaking German 🙂 Manuel and Solveig Thurnes with Georg, Magdalena, Maria and Andreas Contact: Manuel und Solveig Thurnes; Dorfbahnstraße 53; 6534 Serfaus; Austria Mail to: [email protected] You can also find us online: <a href=" Zuchtbetrieb und Biobauernhof ">www.stoagraue.at and www.freiraum-serfaus.at and on Instagram: @stoagraue Photo Attachment Photo Attachment Photo Attachment
